About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a Quality Systems Specialist to join their Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team in Patuxent River, MD. This role is crucial for supporting the Navy F-18 Flight Test Program by managing and maintaining aircraft logbooks, maintenance publications, and associated documentation. The specialist will ensure all required logs are up-to-date and accessible, prepare necessary reports and correspondence, and provide support for aircraft maintenance and operational activities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and possesses experience in aircraft maintenance documentation. Boeing is hiring for multiple experience levels, including Associate and Experienced Quality Systems Specialists.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • 1+ years of experience with flight line operations.
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Experience documenting corrective actions and non-conformance.
  • Experience with Configuration management/Data Management.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (for Level 3).
  • Active Security Clearance.
  • Experience with maintenance planning operations.
  • Experience with release of aircraft for flight.
  • Experience utilizing current management information system(s) to maintain aircraft forms and records as required.
  • Experience with Technical Directive compliance entries.
  • Experience with all current and future reporting required through Navy/Marine Corps systems (e.g. Optimized-Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA), Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Services Command (NATEC)).
  • Experience with processing readiness documents, administering the aircraft configuration status accounting program, and verifying aircraft utilization reports.
  • Experience with compliance with processes and procedures as per Department of Defense (DOD) documents and publications.
  • Experience with assisting in maintaining Naval Aviation programs.
  • Associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the review of proposals, contracts, regulatory, program, and customer requirements to prepare quality assurance plans and tests for hardware and software products, processes, and services.
  • Maintains quality directives, policies, processes, procedures, and metrics to ensure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards, and working agreements are deployed using established procedures.
  • Collects and verifies data to support the identification of root causes for routine problems.
  • Provides ideas and concepts for corrective action development.
  • Supports quality source selection and process reviews of suppliers' ability to meet program quality requirements.
  • Assists with hardware, software, and system-level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, and related business, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Documents audit results in standard formats.
  • Compiles data and provides recommendations for material review disposition.
  • Works under general supervision.
