About The Position

The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for driving and supporting Manufacturing quality systems, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role combines traditional quality assurance responsibilities with leadership and support of Quality Management System (QMS) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) initiatives to improve traceability, compliance, reporting, and operational performance. This role would work closely with the Database Administrator (part of the QA team) to build and maintain applications within the QMS and MES. The position partners closely with Operations, OT, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement teams to drive Quality throughout the plant.

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing quality, quality systems, or process control.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MES, QMS, ERP, or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing digitalization or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Knowledge of SPC, traceability systems, SQL, reporting tools, or manufacturing analytics.
  • ISO/IATF quality systems experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Database Administrator (part of the QA and OT team) to build and maintain applications within the QMS and MES.
  • Work closely with the QA Supervisor and technicians to support Quality Assurance initiatives on the production floor.
  • Support process control, containment activities, inspections, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve quality procedures, standardized work, and QMS documentation.
  • Serve as the Quality SME for MES workflows, quality data collection, traceability, and system integration activities.
  • Support digitalization initiatives involving QMS, MES, electronic quality records, reporting, and manufacturing analytics.
  • Coordinate and support quality-related manufacturing systems projects and process improvement efforts.
  • Partner with Operations, OT, Engineering, and CI teams to improve manufacturing visibility, process stability, and quality performance.
  • Assist with implementation, testing, training, and sustainment of quality-related system enhancements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and maintain compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate quality metrics and process performance indicators.
