About The Position

The Quality Supervisor champions the Quality Management System (QMS) using the principles of quality management. This role involves maintaining and expanding documented QMP, co-leading certification processes, and updating relevant ISO9001 documentation. The supervisor promotes a LEAN culture, identifies and works to reduce the eight wastes, and leads 3S endeavors in the quality area while participating in 3S throughout the plant. A key responsibility is developing a quality program that provides daily feedback to production employees, gathering data on losses due to rework, and maintaining/briefing quality slides in the morning brief, including conducting short lessons. The role also shares responsibility for maintaining and briefing cost slides with the Operations Manager and leads quality special projects as required. The supervisor is responsible for notifying appropriate customers and management of panel completions weekly, and for leading and developing quality technicians, including quality assurance and training personnel. They assume full ownership of quality assurance documentation and, in coordination with engineering, develop and maintain procedures for continual feedback on print, BOM, and label mark-ups. The role involves performing advanced controls functional validation on PLC programs and control logic for major supported brands, ensuring systems meet specifications and regulatory compliance (UL, HazLoc, ETL). The supervisor assists plant leadership with new standards implementation, assigns and delegates to quality technicians, and trains/develops a competent quality team and production technicians, providing feedback to the Warehouse coordinator. A training program for production employees based on quality metrics is to be developed and implemented to foster continuous improvement. The supervisor discusses/trains work method changes in the morning brief, checks adherence to standards and procedures on assembly/production lines, and enforces tool management programs. They keep job knowledge updated through educational opportunities and training, ensure measurement equipment operates accurately, and lead in safety culture by conducting observations. Procedures to reduce consumable shortages are to be ensured. The position requires the ability to read, write, and speak English, perform simple mathematical calculations, and perform other duties as assigned. The duties listed are illustrative, and similar, related, or logical assignments are included. The Quality Supervisor also performs backup duties for the Operations Manager, following a DOA flow chart for duties in their absence.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient/Advanced knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and other relevant electronic devices.
  • Graduate of a technical school with emphasis in electrical work or associate degree required.
  • Able to read and comprehend electrical schematics.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and plant standards.
  • Be able to use tools such as pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and other small tools.
  • Ability to effectively and regularly converse and comprehend in English.
  • Solid work ethic.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, customers, and vendors.
