About The Position

The Quality & Compliance Supervisor supports the implementation and day-to-day execution of quality, food safety, and compliance programs at the recycling facility. This role focuses on operational oversight, employee training, inspection activities, documentation accuracy, and issue escalation. The Supervisor acts as the primary site-level resource for quality execution while partnering closely with the Plant Manager, Corporate Quality, and Product Safety teams. This position leads technicians and hourly quality resources, supports audits, and ensures procedures are followed consistently across shifts.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent practical experience in Quality, Food Safety, Compliance, or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in quality, food safety, or compliance within a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience leading, training, or supervising employees or technicians
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, inspection processes, and technical documentation
  • Understanding GMPs and fundamental food safety principles
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • preferred Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • preferred exposure to internal and/or external audits
  • preferred experience with laboratory testing or analytical methods
  • preferred experience with IOS or other food safety management systems

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and daily execution of established Quality & Compliance programs to meet food safety, product quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain accurate and timely quality and compliance documentation
  • Support corporate-driven initiatives and site-specific quality goals
  • Supervise Quality Lab Technicians and other assigned quality resources
  • Assign daily work, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback
  • Ensure technicians follow testing, inspection, and documentation procedures
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees on quality, food safety, GMPs, and sanitation practices
  • Conduct routine internal inspections and participate in internal audits
  • Support third-party audits (ISO, food safety, customer audits) under the direction of management
  • Assist with corrective action development, documentation, and follow-up
  • Track nonconformances and verify timely closure
  • Perform and oversee quality testing and inspections
  • Support the customer complaint and nonconformance process, including investigations and corrective actions
  • Review quality data and report trends to management
  • Escalate recurring issues, quality risks, or compliance gaps appropriately
  • Support HACCP program activities and documentation
  • Assist with monitoring prerequisite programs such as sanitation, pest control, and GMP compliance
  • Verify incoming materials meet quality and specification requirements for food-contact applications
  • Participate in food safety meetings and inspections
