Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Sciences, or related field; or equivalent work experience
Previous laboratory or quality control experience
2 years previous leadership experience

Nice To Haves

Previous steel manufacturing experience
Working knowledge of ISO 9001/ASTM Standards/NTPEP or other Quality Management Systems

Responsibilities

Overall development and leadership of the Quality Team to include Safety, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction.
Motivating the team, setting expectations for the team, and making sure that the expectations are being met.
Serve as a resource to facilitate collaboration throughout the melt shop and rolling mills to ensure the best interest of Nucor is being met.
Work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to address customer specific requirements and product needs.
Participate in the long term strategic planning for the department by collaborating with other departments to set the quality goals that directly support the overall vision and strategy of the division.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
