About The Position

The Quality Supervisor at American Battery Solutions (ABS) assists in facility-wide production quality in addition to new production line development and Start of Production SOP readiness. The Quality Supervisor assists in the development of quality control tools to prevent and manage quality defects on all manufacturing lines. The Quality Supervisor leads the quality technicians and works with the manufacturing quality engineers (MQE), supplier quality engineer (SQE), manufacturing, logistics and operations to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of previous quality experience within the manufacturing industry.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous supervisory experience for quality team members at varying professional levels.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Experienced in all quality core tools.
  • Six Sigma green belt or equivalent statistical qualification.

Nice To Haves

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system software knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization’s quality systems in compliance with ABS IATF16949 quality management systems (QMS). Support process control to maintain IATF16949 certification.
  • Manage quality technicians in daily activities.
  • Manage and coordinate the site measuring and equipment calibration program.
  • Monitor production standards by creating control methods and driving improvements.
  • Support supplier management and incoming material control.
  • Participate in Material Review board (MRB) & Nonconformance Report (NCR) meetings to support a resolution of supplier quality issues.
  • Communicate with quality engineers and quality technicians regarding quality requirements.
  • Manage and reinforce standard communication and reporting on quality issues.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Send Quality Alerts to purchasing and internal customers as required.
  • Evaluate the final output of products to determine their quality.
  • Produce regular statistical reports on the quality performance of the manufacturing processes.
  • File and maintain all records associated with quality audits, quality alerts, non-conformances, receiving inspection reports and final inspection reports.
  • Improve production efficiency and eliminating waste.
  • Support production operations by assisting in the development of all necessary processes, procedures, and other supporting documentation to provide control of the processes.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Adhere to all QMS policies and reinforce its implementation at the plant.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
