About The Position

The Quality Specialist plays a key role in Union Health’s Quality department, supporting compassionate service and high-quality care for the Wabash Valley communities. The role helps teach and apply process improvement methods, interpret relevant healthcare standards and regulations, and use statistical process control to assess performance data. The specialist works with Medical and Dental staff and Union Health managers to identify opportunities for improvement. The position also coordinates orientation and administrative tasks for assigned medical staff committees and department meetings.

Requirements

Current Indiana RN license.
Bachelor’s degree.
At least one year of clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
At least one year of experience with a physician office practice.
Must understand or be able to quickly learn quality theory and processes.
Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule.

Knowledge of teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate working knowledge of process improvement tools and methods.
Teach process improvement theory, tools, and techniques to others within the healthcare system.
Apply applicable standards and regulations, including HFAP and ISDH requirements, to work processes.
Use statistical process control by displaying data in appropriate formats and accurately assessing the information.
Work with Medical and Dental staff and Union Health managers to analyze processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Coordinate orientation for newly assigned committee members for assigned medical staff meetings.
Coordinate assigned medical staff department meetings with the committee chairperson.
Coordinate creation of annual report agendas and monthly agendas, oversee meeting minutes, and assist with packet preparation for assigned medical staff department meetings.
