About The Position

The Quality Specialist is responsible for preparing and updating fill and assembly specifications for new items. This role involves analyzing materials to ensure they match the bill of material, artwork, and received items. The specialist will collaborate with various departments, including Customer Project Management and Sales, to ensure accurate specifications. Proficiency in the Monarch (MRP) system is required for demand analysis, PO placement, specification updates, and BOM analysis. The role also requires using customer systems like SAP for data retrieval and other production quality functions. Responsibilities include confirming information with customers, attending new product start-ups, conducting meetings to review specifications, and conferring with manufacturing, sales, and management regarding quality assurance. The specialist will establish quality control standards, maintain knowledge of current government and industry quality standards (FDA, ISO, global standards), and investigate nonconformances related to customer complaints, reworks, and internal issues within the fill and assembly processes. Maintaining records of customer procedures and requirements is also a key part of the role. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience preparing and updating specifications.
  • Ability to analyze components and bulk materials.
  • Proficiency in the Monarch (MRP) system for demand analysis, PO placement, specification updates, and BOM analysis.
  • Experience using customer systems such as SAP and other portals.
  • Knowledge of current government and industry quality standards (FDA, ISO, global standards, etc.).
  • Experience investigating nonconformances.
  • Ability to maintain records related to customer procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update fill and assembly specifications for new items in the fill and assembly specifications system.
  • Analyze components and bulk materials to confirm they match the bill of material, artwork, and actual materials received.
  • Partner with Customer Project Management, Sales, and other departments to prepare accurate specifications.
  • Use the Monarch (MRP) system for demand analysis, PO placement, updating specifications, BOM analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Utilize customer systems such as SAP and other portals for data retrieval and production quality functions.
  • Work with customers to confirm information related to new items and attend new start-ups to ensure requirements are met.
  • Conduct meetings to delineate and review new item specifications.
  • Confirm functions with operations between departments to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining quality standards.
  • Confer with manufacturing/sales/management about quality assurance of new products and manufactured products on the market to rectify problems.
  • Establish standards for quality control.
  • Maintain knowledge of current government and industry quality standards (FDA, ISO, global standards, etc.).
  • Investigate nonconformances/concerns related to customer complaints, reworks, and internal nonconformances as they relate to the fill and assembly processes.
  • Maintain records related to customers' current procedures and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
