About The Position

Under minimal supervision, the Quality Specialist generates test plans and creates new projects for incoming jobs. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Review customer purchase order and associated documents to determine the job requirements. Ensure jobs are performed to customer purchase order requirements. Verify applicable revision of specifications are available. In the absence of the applicable revision, partner with a customer service representative to obtain one from the customer. Obtain process requirements from material specifications. For complex jobs, such as VSE, create a test plan with minimal supervision. Create jobs in computer and enter header information as well as process requirement information. Generate test bags, heat treat sheets, labels and create a job package. Review test data for completed jobs. Ensure metallurgical integrity of test results. Issue certified test reports. File all documents into the job package and forward test bags to appropriate production department. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient user of Microsoft products, e.g., Word, Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a past paced environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and specifications.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of Company.
  • Data entry.
  • Must have a high level of Attention to Detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a Quality department preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry preferred but not required.
