About The Position

Innophos is seeking a Quality Senior Specialist at our Chicago Heights, IL location to develop, manage and continually improve the Quality Assurance Process, focusing on system and process continual improvements necessary for the manufacturing site(s) to meet or exceed customer requirements from a quality or regulatory standpoint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in Quality related functions or Continuous Improvement disciplines
  • Training in Auditing Skills (such as Lead Auditor training in ISO 9001 and or GFSI Auditor training)
  • Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Training required
  • Food Defense Training required
  • Working Knowledge of EtQ, JDE, LIMS, SQCPack/Chartrunner or other SPC Package and all Microsoft Office products required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices including the proper wearing of clean protective clothing, following personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions

Responsibilities

  • Assist in training New Hires in the plant in Quality and Food Safety topics
  • Assist in annual training of all employees at the site(s) for cGMP and Food Safety related topics
  • Responsible for Quality Batch Review of all Calcium Phosphates, Process Control review (Process Data, IPT, Historian), and Production Batch record review
  • Manage all Process Deviation investigations for the Chicago Heights and Waterway sites
  • Responsible for Batch Record review for Calcium Phosphates packaged at Toll Packers (APS Grupa, PST and SprayTek)
  • Provide Log sheets (consecutively numbered) to Calciums unit
  • Manage Pest Control service and Weed control for the Chicago Heights and Waterway sites
  • Act as primary contact for GMP related Work Orders
  • Maintain all Food Safety Plans (currently 19), including conducting annual HACCP Review meetings
  • Provide support and oversight over the Quality and Food Safety system at the Waterway site
  • Manage Environmental Monitoring Program & Potable Water Monitoring (work with DonLevy on scheduling)
  • Maintain Vulnerability Assessments for Raw Materials
  • Work with QA Manager to conduct annual Quality System Review and Food Safety System Review meetings
  • Maintain Food Defense plans for Chicago Heights and Waterway sites
  • Maintain the Stability Study program for both the Chicago Heights and Waterway sites
  • Work with QA Manager on process validation and raw material qualification studies
  • Follows all environmental, health and safety protocols
  • Provides support for all safety and environmental initiatives
  • Proactively attempts to prevent all accidents and eliminate all unsafe conditions
  • Demonstrates management’s commitment to safety
