About The Position

The ideal candidate will offer specialized technical expertise to support Quality programs. This includes specialized inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, and quality tools for problem-solving and assessment. The Quality and Safety Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), Safety programs and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the Franklin facility. This role ensures compliance with customer, regulatory, and certification requirements, while leading continuous improvement in product quality, food safety, and workplace safety.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality and/or safety leadership
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and audit processes
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive corrective actions
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple sites

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the site QMS in alignment with corporate standards and applicable frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001 principles)
  • Ensure effective execution of document control, internal audits, corrective and preventive actions, and management review processes
  • Lead and execute Lean and Continuous Improvement projects that enhance production efficiency and operational performance
  • Monitor and drive performance against key quality metrics (e.g., customer complaints, internal defects, audit results)
  • Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Conduct in-depth analysis such as process flow, material flow, value stream mapping, and bottleneck identification to uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Champion a Lean mindset across the organization by training, coaching, and mentoring employees and leaders in Lean methodologies and best practices
  • Serve as primary contact for customer quality inquiries and audits
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, allergen controls, sanitation, and traceability requirements
  • Act as primary site contact for certification audits and regulatory inspections
  • Lead site safety programs in compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Conduct and oversee incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and drive proactive risk reduction initiatives
  • Ensure consistent execution of safety audits, training, and workplace observations
  • Provide leadership at Franklin, ensuring alignment of quality and safety systems
  • Standardize processes where appropriate while addressing site-specific risks
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve process performance, reduce risk, and enhance compliance
