About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Representative to join our South Bend, IN team. This role is critical to maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting quality standards in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery and supports operations within an ITAR-controlled facility. The Quality Representative plays a key role in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal standards. This position operates in a controlled ITAR/CUI/DOD environment and requires strict adherence to compliance and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience or training in ISO9001 or AS9100/9120
  • Knowledge of quality systems and Lean methodologies
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with advanced inspection methodologies, including GD&T
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong safety mindset

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certification
  • 3+ years Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience
  • Lean training
  • OSHA or safety training
  • Experience in metal manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, document, report, review, and process customer returns
  • Investigate, document, and process vendor returns (Return Purchase Orders)
  • Assist in implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System
  • Maintain and calibrate Measuring and Test Equipment
  • Participate in branch quality system reviews
  • Conduct internal quality audits
  • Support customer-led audits and visits
  • Conduct root cause investigations and recommend corrective and preventative actions
  • Provide internal and external technical assistance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives as Branch Lean Focal
  • Ensure audit completion and timely posting of scores on the intranet
  • Facilitate concise operational meetings (10 minutes or less)
  • Identify and recommend areas for process improvement
  • Support Regional Lean Focal in workshop preparation (AIWs)
  • Maintain visual boards, audit history, newsletters, and shared vision boards
