The Field Quality Representative is responsible for implementing and overseeing QGS’s quality program on-site in support of (Pacific Northwest) projects. This role ensures that field execution aligns with company quality standards, ISO 9001 principles, and applicable contract requirements to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality project outcomes. The Field Quality Representative works closely with field operations, safety, engineering, and project management to ensure quality is effectively integrated into daily work activities, construction practices, and project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Federal Construction Management, transmission, sub-stations, or related field (or equivalent field experience) (DOE, DoD, USACE, NAVFAC preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of quality experience supporting construction, utilities, power delivery, or industrial projects
  • Experience performing field inspections, surveillances, and quality oversight on active job sites
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and contract compliance requirements
  • Experience with nonconformance tracking, corrective actions, and root cause analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting utility, transmission & distribution (T&D), or power infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001-based quality management systems
  • Experience in federal or public-sector contracting environments
  • Experience working in field-based or embedded project roles
  • Familiarity with NQA-1 or other structured quality frameworks (not required)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor
  • ASME NQA-1 Lead Auditor/Auditor
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Construction)
  • Relevant utility, construction, or project-specific certifications
  • First Aid / CPR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site quality representative supporting energy projects, ensuring work is performed in accordance with QGS quality standards and contract requirements
  • Conduct field inspections, surveillances, and verifications of construction and installation activities
  • Identify, document, and track nonconformances; support corrective actions and resolution in coordination with project teams
  • Reinforce adherence to approved procedures, specifications, drawings, and work packages in the field
  • Partner with field supervision, safety, and engineering to proactively address quality issues and prevent rework
  • Support implementation of inspection and test plans (ITPs), checklists, and quality hold points as applicable
  • Participate in client interactions, walkdowns, and quality reviews with client representatives
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality records and documentation in accordance with QGS and contract requirements
  • Provide on-the-job guidance and coaching to field personnel on quality expectations and best practices
  • Monitor field quality trends and communicate risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities to project leadership
  • Support supplier and subcontractor quality oversight as needed in the field
  • Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned
