About The Position

Keel was formed by bringing together three industry leaders combining generations of hands-on expertise in steel fabrication, shipbuilding, aerospace, and defense manufacturing. We build ships, defense systems, aerospace components, and heavy steel structures that serve critical missions. This role is responsible for driving quality earlier into the launch process (Quality Assurance), reacting quickly to customer concerns, improving the Business Management System through audits and improvement ideas, and meeting annual departmental goals.

Requirements

Associates degree or equivalent experience.
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Quality Assurance functions.
Adequate experience using inspection and test equipment.
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Technician, or Engineer.
ISO-9000 or AS-9100 related auditing, inspection & test, Metrology, and calibration, print reading & interpretation (GD&T).
Process Improvement, Analyzing Information, Strategic Planning.
Ability to interact effectively with suppliers and customers.
Familiar with Machining, Welding, Assembly and Testing.
Good planning, organizational, and communications skills required.
Energetic, Positive attitude, Proactive, Process Driven, Leadership & Motivational abilities.
Works well with others.
Organized with ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Results driven with emphasis on keeping customer and business commitments.

Responsibilities

Develop quality plans from customer requirements, external standards, and internal procedures to mitigate risk.
Be the contact for customer quality concerns.
Lead customer scorecard improvements.
Leader/member of corrective action teams.
ISO / AS internal auditor.
Maintaining a positive quality reputation with assigned customers.
Implement containment activities, as required, to protect the customer of repeat non-conformances.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
