About The Position

Leprino, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Quality Processing Lab Office Assistant to join their team in Roswell, NM. Leprino is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and a major supplier of premium dairy nutrition ingredients, serving global customers including large food companies, restaurant chains, and distributors. The Office Assistant will perform mathematical functions and utilize computer programs such as Cyberdocs, SAP, Flex QM, Flex Quality Alerts, MES, Excel, and Word. This role requires the ability to read, write, and comprehend procedures, communicate effectively across production departments, and work under pressure to meet deadlines. The position involves maintaining production files, generating reports, ensuring a clean environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and knowing Critical Control Points related to Food Safety and USDA regulations. Requirements

  • Ability to perform mathematical functions.
  • Skilled at computer programs such as Cyberdocs, SAP, Flex QM; Flex Quality Alerts; MES; Excel and Word.

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical problems.
  • Ability to interface with equipment and computers.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend procedures which direct the position’s assignments.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all food safety, USDA, PPE, SOP, GMP, FSMA regulations and requirements.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Able to read, write, and perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Able to interpret data and make necessary decisions.
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds.
  • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
  • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining all production files and generating all reports used to perform daily job duties.
  • Maintaining a clean environment.
  • Adhering to all the Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Knowing Critical Control Points pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations.
  • Assisting with sampling and administrative procedures in the department.
  • Responsible for the safe and adequate operation of lab tests in accordance with SOPs.
  • Shipping customer and corporate product samples.
  • Pulling customer and corporate samples.
  • Retesting samples as necessary.
  • Record-keeping of samples and shipments.
  • Pulling and testing (as needed) of ingredient samples.
  • Coordinating product sampling/shipping between corporate, warehouse, and FedEx.
  • Managing sampling/shipping supplies (boxes, dry ice, blue ice) inventory.
  • Record-keeping for hold/release of product.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the working foreperson or supervisor.
  • Understanding customer requirements for microbiological testing.
  • Working directly with the corporate QA team to facilitate additional samples, testing, and dispositioning.
