About The Position

The Quality Manager will lead the further development and enhancement of the Quality Management program for Raw Sugar, LLC which will allow the company to maintain the high product quality standards set by the brand. This position will manage the product quality program for Raw Sugar and ensure adherence at all Contract Manufacturers and 3PL partners. As a Quality Manager, you will oversee and direct the work of Quality staff in direct connection to our manufacturing and distribution partners. In addition, your technical support to Operations, Marketing, and Product Development is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor in a science field, Quality area preferred
  • 3-5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing management environment
  • Experience in personal care contract manufacturing a plus
  • Strong business management skills and manufacturing management experience
  • Knowledge of GMP, Statistical sampling, processes/testing procedures
  • Experience creating and implementing SOPs and process guidelines
  • Must have basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • NetSuite or other ERP/data system experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities as required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Manages performance and provides leadership to Quality employee(s). Provides guidance and training on new processes and products.
  • Monitors enforcement of cGMPs and SOPs within Raw Sugar department and affiliated partners. Establish SOPs to close any process gaps and elevate the Quality function.
  • Works closely with Operations and Innovation to establish standards, accept/reject criteria, defect classifications and simple written test methods and inspection procedures as needed for components, bulk, and finished goods.
  • Develops and implements Pre-Delivery Sampling (PDS) system with key component suppliers and contract manufacturers. Manages component standards distribution process within Operations, and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Manages finished goods and product evaluation and functional testing for components and finished goods.
  • Monitors maintenance and storage of component samples and finished product retains.
  • Directs Contract Manufacturers on protocols for incoming inspection and testing of components and raw materials in compliance with the Quality Agreement.
  • Conducts vendor evaluations of all Contract Manufacturers, including periodic on-site visits, to assure consistent quality and delivery.
  • Provides support to Contract Manufacturers on issues related to supplied components and packaging work instructions.
  • Works with Operations and Contract Manufacturers on process improvements.
  • Participates in establishing and reporting vendor performance ratings. Keeps records of component and contract manufacturers' quality issues. Publishes results to Operations for improvement action.
  • Generates and publishes Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-conforming products, components, bulk and finished goods. Evaluates 3rd party partners’ investigation reports for robust preventive actions as needed.
  • Oversees protocols for compatibility and functional testing in new packages in collaboration with Product Development and Purchasing.
