About The Position

Pregis is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and coordinate quality initiatives within the Sharp business unit. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a quality system that aligns with established standards like ISO 9001, customer expectations, and the Pregis Production System. The Quality Manager will be instrumental in defining and executing the quality management strategy across multiple manufacturing sites, aiming to achieve business objectives through process improvement tools and strategies that enhance overall quality and customer satisfaction. This position may also involve training other department leaders in quality assurance concepts and strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, improved product quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or similar related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years in a proven leadership position.
  • Track record in managing QMS and achieving quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Structured Problem Solving (DMAIC, 8D, A3, 5Why, Cause and Effect etc.).
  • Applied Data Analytics (Regression, SPC, Process Capability, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) across all sites to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with ISO standards and in alignment with the Pregis Production System.
  • Provide strategic quality direction for polybag manufacturing facilities, ensuring correct focus, resource allocation, and execution of quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Own the coordination and results of cross-departmental resolution to critical customer concerns and non-conformance challenges.
  • Oversee and manage the work of the quality staff, developing and initiating internal standards and processes for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Direct employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure process and product compliance are maintained and process improvements are sustained.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality.
  • Set targets for improvement and report progress updates to management.
  • Keep the management team informed of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
  • Foster and aid in the quality policy deployment process.
  • Partner with the sales team and customers to understand their quality requirements and ensure products meet these expectations.
  • Take ownership of the process to address any quality-related customer complaints.
  • Drive collaboration to solve root cause issues and create corrective actions for sustainable process change.
  • Ensure all products meet internal and external standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a system for layered process audits to drive engagement and identify gaps.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Lead strategic quality improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Work closely with other Pregis quality leaders to share best practices and adopt quality standards.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs to all levels of the organization to foster high-quality awareness and skill sets.
