About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our Quality team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in transformational leadership, including leading changes in processes that affect daily work of team members
  • 5+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • 5+ years of experience in project implementation
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must have a Repairman's Certificate or the ability to obtain one based on eligibility requirements C.F.R. 65.101
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing, six sigma, and structured problem solving
  • 5+ years of experience with development and implementation of innovative methods
  • 5+ years of experience in management is desired
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstration of results-oriented action is required
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize information technology and learn new information systems is required
  • Experience using data and analysis for decision making, problem-solving and communication is required

Responsibilities

  • Manage Quality operations that affect product quality
  • Lead change and improvement across the production system
  • Supervise, engage, motivate and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff
  • Assure the reliability and consistency of production processes
  • Understand customers’ requirements and ensure they are satisfied
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
  • Teach and rely on structured problem-solving methods to resolve issues and drive improvement
  • Understand and teach current standards, policies and requirements
  • Communicate with internal and external regulatory and compliance officials and support onsite audits
  • Provide Quality oversite for the Repair station
  • Other duties as assigned
