The Quality Manager shall maintain control and authority for the Quality Management System (QMS). This role involves managing activities related to the QMS, providing technical direction, mentoring, training, support, and performance feedback to staff. The Quality Manager acts as a primary escalation point for quality issues, including nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective action development. They will manage 3rd party audits such as AS9100 and NADCAP, lead and support internal, customer, and third-party liaison and audit assistance, and ensure timely corrective action closures. This role also manages internal audit activities and personnel related to quality control, laboratory, process control, inspection, and planning functions. Responsibilities include reviewing prime contractor specifications, implementing engineering requirements into the QMS, and managing the development, maintenance, and submittal of frozen planning. The Quality Manager will oversee the control of nonconforming product and CAR/NCR initiation, disposition, rework documentation, and database maintenance. They will develop QMS level 2 and 3 documents, implement continuous improvement programs, and maintain daily shop floor presence to promote quality objectives. The role involves developing various forms, charts, and logs, providing technical expertise, tracking quality metrics, ensuring compliance with customer flow-down requirements, and performing planning/certification as needed. The Quality Manager will also interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders regarding quality issues and promote a positive culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and compliance.
