About IPSD: Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future. Role Definition: As the Quality Manager, you will lead the execution and continuous improvement of the facility’s internal and external audit programs, ensuring full compliance with the Caterpillar Quality Management System (CQMS). In this role, you will manage a team responsible for driving audit effectiveness, closing gaps, and strengthening process discipline across the value stream. You will partner cross-functionally to improve quality system performance and maintain audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of internal and external audit programs to ensure compliance with CQMS standards and customer expectations.
  • Manage facility audit schedules and ensure timely completion and documentation of audits.
  • Facilitate CQMS Management Reviews and drive alignment on system performance.
  • Ensure audit findings are documented, escalated, and resolved through standard processes.
  • Lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions for audit findings.
  • Drive accountability for closure of non-conformances and validate effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track audit findings, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Coach teams on root cause problem solving and systemic improvements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality professionals and auditors.
  • Build capability through training, coaching, and structured development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee administration and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
  • Drive standardization and adherence to quality processes and audit methodologies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve process capability and compliance.
  • Support Human Organizational Performance (HOP) and safety initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement and engagement activities within the team.
