About The Position

Hohman Plating, a division of Novaria Group, is a leading service provider for plated coatings serving a diversified customer base including aerospace, medical, large equipment and more. This co-op position is for Fall 2026, starting in August 2026 and concluding in December 2026. The role involves coordinating and executing activities to support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), working closely with system analysts and engineers to identify and correct deficiencies, and identifying areas for improvement to reduce waste and enhance process flow and outputs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Ability to work 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
  • Familiarity with Workflo specification-driven planning software.
  • Familiarity with TrueChem software.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Access database reports.
  • Ability to query and manipulate data.
  • Ability to create Excel spreadsheets for review and to assist in executing project tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Degrees being pursued in Industrial or Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Computer Science (not programming) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute activities to support and maintain the QMS (Quality Management System).
  • Work closely with system analyst and engineers to identify and correct deficiencies in the QMS.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to reduce waste while improving process flow and outputs of the business’s processes.
  • Review and understand the key procedures and components of the QMS and the business’s quality objectives.
  • Read and interpret customer quality system requirements, including industrial processing and inspection specifications.
  • Audit business procedures and functions, including industrial processing and inspection operations, against a defined set of requirements.
  • Create reports which clearly and concisely outline how business procedures and functions either meet or do not meet the defined set of requirements.
  • Collaborate with business unit teams to agree upon specific, actionable items necessary to implement new requirements or address identified deficiencies.
  • Work in various software platforms to audit data pertaining to chemical process procedures and parameters, inspection, and quality performance.
  • Query and manipulate data, create Excel spreadsheets for review and to assist in executing project tasks.
  • Assist with product testing as needed.
  • Assist with instrument calibration as needed.
  • Other duties assigned as needed for this role.
