About The Position

Directs and coordinates activities of the Quality Department. Tests and inspects products at Receiving; compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. This position may also require operating overhead crane and forklift. Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site, ability to work overtime. Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management. Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department. Trains, or assists in the training of other employees in Quality processes. Prioritize tasks in a self-directed and time-managed manner. Strong attention to detail, organizational skill and communication skill. Ability to be flexible and change tasks on a moment’s notice.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret Engineering drawings and Customer specifications.
  • Must have working knowledge of all industry welding codes and standards including American Society of Mechanical Engineering, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII.
  • Working knowledge of Nondestructive Examinations, Heat Treating, Paint and Protective Coatings.
  • Must be able to use a variety of precision and non-precision inspection and test equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel).
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence presentation platforms i.e. PowerBI
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments preferred.
  • Experience with calibration of inspection and test equipment preferred.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience with Positive Material Identification (PMI).
  • Non Destructive Testing Certification preferred.
  • Experience with PMI and UT thickness testing preferred.
  • Forklift experience as well.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspection and test activities in accordance with established quality plans, engineering specifications, and procedures in order to verify that the specified requirements for the product have been met.
  • Review Material Test Reports (MTR’s) for compliance to Code and customer specifications.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection and/or testing of incoming materials and products to determine compliance.
  • Record the results, which provide evidence that the product has been inspected and/or tested (records should show clearly whether the product has passed or failed in accordance with established criteria).
  • Handle any nonconforming product in accordance with established work instructions and other quality system procedures.
  • Directly supervise up to 10 non-supervisory employees.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion Inc., Thermal Solutions’ policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities, as assigned by the Department Manager, will include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
