About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly 2nd SHIFT Quality Lead Team Member! Position starts at $24 per hour. This role involves conducting quality assurance testing, verifying and documenting products and raw materials on the plant floor, and investigating the causes of quality defects. The Quality Lead will work with other leads and supervisors to ensure Quality Department coverage and communicate when product is out of specification. They will also assist in validating plant-wide compliance with GMPs and employee safety rules, train new team members, and assemble daily reports. Staying current with GMPs, SOPs, standards, policies, procedures, and product specifications is crucial. The role also includes verifying equipment calibration and performing detailed inspections and testing.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent certification
Experience in food manufacturing and/or quality
Bilingual preferred

Responsibilities

Conducts quality assurance testing and verifies and accurately documents products and raw materials on the plant floor.
Verifies and documents in-process and finished product quality checks to ensure compliance to established specifications and temperature requirements.
Verifies and documents labels to ensure they meet regulatory requirements including tare weights, UPC codes, legibility, establishment number, pricing and correct product identification.
Verifies incoming ingredients for compliance to established visual and temperature requirements.
Verifies sell-by and product dates on product runs.
Investigates and determines cause or causes of quality defects and communicates with production team.
Analyzes facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to do root causes analysis and preventive measures.
Works with other leads and supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments to ensure Quality Department coverage.
Communicates to leads and supervisors when product is out of specification.
Assists in validating plant-wide compliance with GMPs and employee safety rules.
Assists leadership in Root Cause Analysis and implements preventative measures.
Trains new team members as needed.
Works independently or within a team as needed.
Assembles daily reports, paperwork, and blue label sheets as needed.
Stays current with knowledge of GMP’s, SOP’s, standards, policies, procedures and specification of product.
Verifies calibration of equipment.
Maintains communication and updates as required by leadership.
Performs detailed inspections, testing and documentation.
Trained and qualified in pre-operation activities.
Trained and qualified in HACCP documentation and activities.
Directs and leads a group of employees involved in inspection and quality procedures about in-process material and finished products to ensure that quality standards are achieved.
Plans and assistance work of quality team as needed.
Maintains expectations, morale, and harmonious relations among subordinates.
Evaluates and communicates personnel performance or training needs.
Maintains accurate quality records.
Compiles and maintains accurate quality inspection records and reports.
May assume other duties as assigned.
