About The Position

Lactalis US Yogurt, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is hiring a Quality Lab Technician based in Brattleboro, Vermont. The position works the third shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with a 15% shift differential. The technician performs and documents quality testing and analyses of raw materials and finished products, and supports product release decisions and compliance with approved specifications. The role also includes environmental testing and wearing appropriate laboratory and safety gear. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One to two years of experience in a related Quality Assurance environment.
Experience working in a clean environment, using aseptic methodologies, and performing bacteriological culture and laboratory analyses.
Ability to understand, operate, and interpret results from typical laboratory testing procedures.
Effective and accurate verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to take direction and follow instructions accurately.
Ability to work well with peers and supervisors in a team process.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and job-related software applications.

Responsibilities

Perform and document testing of materials and finished products.
Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials and finished products.
Make hold, release, or rejection decisions for finished goods.
Perform physical and chemical analyses of raw materials and manufactured products.
Verify compliance with approved product specifications and alert the QA Manager to deviations.
Perform temperature checks, ingredient usage and distribution checks, finished-product appearance checks, code-date verification, pH testing, and metal-detection verification.
Perform sensory evaluations of raw materials and finished products.
Perform environmental testing.
Wear company-appropriate laboratory and safety gear as required.
