About The Position

Responsible for performing required performance testing on various materials and goods within the facility. Working closely with production and quality personnel when materials are found out of specification. Will be required to complete training; including training on all lab equipment specific to assigned area. Able to setup various assigned pieces of lab equipment. Able to read and understand spreadsheets, customer forms, specifications, and blueprints with the ability to record and analyze data. Perform various checks including rate, bond, and paint checks with assigned equipment. May be required to change shifts or work overtime. May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Mechanical aptitude as needed for the area of assigned work
  • Ability to read and interpret information from specifications, standard operating procedures, visual aids, etc.
  • Ability to operate more than one piece of equipment simultaneously
  • Able to become proficient in laboratory systems used
  • Ability to use standard Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to submit to a panel interview process.
  • Must wear steel-toe shoes, safety glasses and earplugs when in manufacturing area.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment and be exposed to low levels of carbon black dust, which maybe dirty.
  • Be aware of all safety regulations and the visibility of forklifts on the work floor.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis

  • 1 year of technical background or experience preferred.
