About The Position

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are currently looking to hire a Quality Lab Tech based in Fort Worth, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining analytical bench test equipment, certifying and executing micro plating, executing environmental testing, organizing received cultures, executing proficiency tests, conducting line inspections/clearances, conducting ELISA testing for product validations, conducting analysis and testing for products on hold, supporting specialists with lab supply call outs and stocking, supporting projects for audit compliance, supporting and driving quality improvement in the lab, ensuring compliance to Danone and Regulatory Quality Systems schemas, supporting Quality systems like plant ISO and HACCP initiatives, supporting development of quality SOPs and ensuring QARs are followed up, performing analysis according to plan of control and documenting findings, analyzing trends and putting together quality action plans, training operational teams on quality-related topics, and supporting innovation/renovation plant trials related to materials.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, or the equivalent is preferred.
1-3 years’ experience in the dairy/food/beverage manufacturing industry, including supervisory experience.
Proven ability to establish, optimize and maintain world-class quality system and team.
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to influence others and be a team player.
Ability to develop/implement core work practices and standards that ensure excellence in quality.
Ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and quickly resolve complicated quality problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities with allocating time to long-term, quality continuous improvement projects.
Ability to lift to 50lbs.
Strong “self-management” skills and be comfortable working with minimal supervision.
Established project management skills.
Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with various levels of plant and corporate personnel and influence others.
Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed to support 7-day per week, 24-hour per day production facilities. Work schedules could include occasional off-shift or weekend work.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain analytical bench test equipment; e.g. Rheomat, pH meter, etc.
Certify and execute micro plating; e.g. EB, Coliform, etc.
Execute environmental testing; e.g. swabs, air testing, water testing, etc.
Execute organization of culture received.
Execute proficiency tests with a passing grade.
Conduct Line Inspections/Clearances – e.g. Pre-op, Allergen Line Clearances, etc.
Conduct ELISA testing for product validations.
Conduct analysis and testing for products on hold.
Support specialist with lab supply call outs and stocking.
Support projects for audit compliance-e.g. glass audit, WISE audit
Support and drive quality improvement in the lab.
Help ensure compliance to Danone and Regulatory Quality Systems schemas; e.g. FSSC 22000, PrP, TDH/FDA, Danone Audits.
Support Quality systems: e.g. the plant ISO and HACCP initiatives.
Support development of quality SOPs and ensure QARs are followed up as it relates to materials.
Perform analysis according to plan of control and document findings, analyze the trends and put together quality action plans.
Train the operational teams when needed on quality related topics such as GMP, quick hits and also support the development of quality SOPs and OPL (one point lessons) and ensure that quality action reports are followed up.
Support innovation/renovation plant trials related to materials.
