Quality Lab Technician
About The Position
This role plays a vital part in the Quality team, focusing on ensuring the quality and quantity of work and product produced. The technician will be responsible for the proper care and usage of equipment, preparing test specimens, and performing various tests to ensure conformance to Vallourec Star, API, ASTM, or other standards. These tests include mechanical testing such as yield and tensile strength, Charpy impact, and hardness. The position also involves communicating test results and maintaining test data, along with performing other assigned tasks by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Observe safety rules and wear required safety equipment while on the job, such as a hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection.
- Adherence to department policies, procedures, practices, and specifications.
- Working normal shift schedule and hours, as required. Also, any extended work schedule or days and/or hours as required.
Responsibilities
- Quality and quantity of work and product produced.
- Completion of assigned tasks.
- Proper care and usage of equipment.
- Prepare test specimens and perform tests to ensure conformance to Vallourec Star, API, ASTM or other standards.
- Testing shall include mechanical testing including yield and tensile, Charpy impact, hardness, and other tests as required.
- Communication of test results and maintenance of test data.
- All other tasks assigned by supervisor.
