About The Position

This Quality Control Technician position is primarily responsible for ensuring the integrity and consistency of finished goods through rigorous analytical testing and packaging oversight. By performing critical checks on carbonation, dissolved oxygen, and sensory attributes, you serve as the final gatekeeper for finished product. This role blends routine production line inspections with essential microbiological functions—including yeast propagation, sterile technique, and RT-PCR analysis—to maintain a comprehensive quality program. Beyond technical testing, you are a data-driven collaborator who identifies trends, maintains meticulous records, and works cross-functionally with brewing, production, and maintenance teams to drive process improvements and ensure regulatory compliance across the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or closely related field; Education requirement may be waived if candidate possesses knowledge of commercial food/beverage manufacturing
  • A minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience; relevant, completed academic labs will be considered.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
  • Skilled in data analysis and communication
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work tasks
  • Capable of learning and performing new duties
  • Ability to take on tasks or projects with minimal supervision
  • Comfortably shifts gears and adapts to change
  • You must be legally eligible to work in the USA
  • You must pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
  • You must be at least 21 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a QC/QA laboratory is preferred
  • Prior experience working in a brewery facility a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform various quality control tests on packaged products, such as sensory evaluations, carbonation checks, dissolved oxygen analysis, and fill level measurements
  • Conduct regular inspections of packaging materials, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Secondary responsibilities include microbiology laboratory functions, such as media prep, sterile technique and filtration, cell counting, yeast propagation, general cleaning, as well as use of autoclaves, RT-PCR, and microscopes
  • Collect and analyze data from quality control tests, identify trends or issues, and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control tests, and corrective actions taken, ensuring compliance with internal documentation requirements
  • Identify and resolve instrument issues, equipment malfunctions, or product quality concerns in a timely manner
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and tools used for quality control testing
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards, labeling regulations, and industry-specific guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity in the packaging department
  • Provide training and guidance to packaging team on quality control procedures, ensuring understanding and adherence to established standards
  • Work closely with production, brewing, and maintenance teams to address quality-related issues and develop preventative measures
