About The Position

Under the guidance of the Director of Quality Data Management, the SBSH Quality Intern (Temp) will focus on key areas as assigned in relation to SBSH Initiatives for operational excellence and improvement. This individual will provide non-clinical support to a broad range of staff to assist in streamlining hospital operations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a strong interest in the healthcare setting.
• Strong interest in healthcare, patient safety, data entry/analytics as it applies to the hospital setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong analytical, interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and professional demeanor.
• High level of integrity and accountability, strong desire to expand knowledge and professional development.
• Must maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality, uphold safety regulations, and demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Background checks, health screenings, and orientation as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs data collection, entry, and verification.
• Preparation, amendment, organization. Creation of source files (e-files) and document verification.
• Assists in preparation of reports, presentations, and minutes.
• Scanning, filing, administrative phone support.
• Participation with specialized projects to support organizational initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement efforts relative to departmental and hospital needs.
