About The Position

Emerson is seeking a curious, collaborative, and improvement-focused Quality Intern (Spring 2027) to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will gain practical experience with quality systems, document control, auditing, supplier collaboration, inspection, and supply chain quality. You will work alongside experienced team members while contributing ideas that help improve processes, strengthen product quality, and support our customers. This internship is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities and hands-on experience. You will also explore how artificial intelligence and other emerging tools can enhance quality processes.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support document control activities by revising, reviewing, and publishing new or updated documents.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen document-control and audit-related processes.
  • Learn applicable management system standards and evaluate processes and procedures for potential improvement.
  • Develop auditing skills and assist with internal process audits.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns identified during manufacturing.
  • Partner with the distribution center to help resolve supply chain quality issues.
  • Learn inspection methods and provide inspection support when needed.
  • Explore and recommend practical ways artificial intelligence could improve quality processes.
  • Document findings clearly and communicate progress to relevant team members.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement activities while following applicable safety, quality, and ethical requirements.
