About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for the overall quality of the boat. This person ensures that all options and functions are checked and operate correctly along with ensuring the boat meets the cosmetic criteria and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of two years’ experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Safety glasses must be always worn.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections at specific checkpoints and accurately and thoroughly record results.
  • Must have the ability to be cross trained in all inspection points which may include but are not limited to: Vital to Quality (safety) verification, Regulatory verification, Functional verification, Cosmetic verification, Ensure all options in boat, On-the-water function and performance verification (Pool Test).
  • Must be able to provide audits in all areas to support improvement activities.
  • Must be able to train, certify and operate a crane/lift.
  • General knowledge and understanding of required power tools.
  • Must be able to stand and work in and around boats/molds throughout the entire day.
  • Team oriented, able to contribute to positive morale within the department.
  • Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment while wearing all required PPE and following safety policy and hazardous material guidelines.
  • Must practice good housekeeping by keeping work areas clean at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
