About The Position

This classification requires the inspection of all types of machined parts, aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installations, development parts and assemblies, vendor manufactured parts, materials, all types of tooling, master gages, master models and development parts, etc., for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and interchangeability. The operation of various types of magnetic and penetrant testing equipment and the subsequent inspection. Performs functional and operational checks of production, prototype, modified and customer returned aircraft major components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and installations. Investigates and determines dispositions on returned materials, detail parts and assemblies for FAA repairs. Inspects, calibrates, repairs, adjusts, and certifies all precision measuring instruments to required standards.

Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience performing manufacturing or product inspections using blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience performing measurements with precision measurement tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
  • Sets-up and aligns optical instruments and performs periodic inspections on major tools and master gages; logs information and maintains records.
  • The ability to utilize computer systems including input of data and retrieval of information for inspections and configuration purposes.
  • Uses laser trackers, portable CMM, CMM, Photogrammetry, and any other applicable technologies in the performance of normal job duties.
  • The ability to review documents and to identify and resolve any errors or missing information.
  • Ability to use operating software including SAP
  • 2+ years in an Aerospace or similar inspection role
