Job Description Position Summary The Product Quality / Final Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet all customer, engineering, contractual, and internal quality requirements prior to receiving and shipment. This role verifies product conformity through visual and dimensional inspection, documentation review, and functional testing where applicable, and ensures full traceability and compliance with Teledyne Marine quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or related industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscopes, pull-test equipment, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cable/harness assemblies and electromechanical components strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with ERP/MRP systems a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • 0–10 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality-related environment preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical inspection, receiving inspection, shipping, or contract/purchase order review is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, cables, connectors, and components.
  • Verify compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, travelers, and contract requirements.
  • Review product certification packages, and traceability.
  • Validate workmanship in accordance with applicable industry and internal standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, internal QA standards).
  • Perform dimensional inspections and utilize precision measuring equipment as required (CMM, hand tools, etc.
  • Conduct continuity, resistance, and functional testing when applicable.
  • Verify correct labeling, serialization, torque markings, and product traceability.
  • Review work orders, drawings, travelers, test reports, certifications, and quality records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Accurately complete inspection documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS) and ERP systems.
  • Create and maintain objective quality evidence packages for internal and external use.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material; initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
  • Maintain inspection records in accordance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues identified during inspection.
  • Provide feedback on recurring defects, workmanship concerns, and process gaps.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action efforts through accurate inspection data and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, inspection efficiency, and process effectiveness.
  • Adhere to established quality procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
