Quality Inspector (Electronics)

Neros Technologies•Torrance, CA

About The Position

Neros is a defense technology company that designs and manufactures unmanned systems. The Quality Inspector performs incoming, first article, and in-process inspections of electronic hardware, including PCBAs, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and other electronic sub-assemblies. The role helps prevent workmanship and supplier defects from reaching production by inspecting hardware against drawings, specifications, and IPC workmanship standards. The inspector verifies supplier data and traceability, independently follows inspection and sampling plans, and records results in production systems. When nonconformances are found, the inspector documents them, contains suspect hardware, and verifies that required actions from the MRB disposition are complete before hardware is released back to production. The position also identifies recurring defects and communicates systemic issues to engineering, production, and supply chain.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on electronics inspection experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620, applied to PCBAs, harnesses, and cable assemblies.
  • Ability to read and work from assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Experience documenting nonconformances in an NCR, MES, or ERP system.

Nice To Haves

  • Current IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification; J-STD-001 certification is a plus.
  • Experience working within an ESD control program (ANSI/ESD S20.20).
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management system, ideally in aerospace or defense manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, first article, and in-process inspections of PCBAs, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and other electronic sub-assemblies across the factory against drawings, specifications, and IPC workmanship standards.
  • Verify supplier data packages, including certificates of conformance, AOI and X-ray results, harness and cable test reports, part markings, and traceability.
  • Independently execute inspection plans, sampling plans, and work instructions, and record results clearly, accurately, and completely in production systems.
  • Identify and document nonconformances, contain suspect hardware, and verify all required actions from the MRB disposition are complete before releasing hardware back to production.
  • Flag recurring defects and systemic issues to engineering, production, and supply chain.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.
