The inspector will interpret and evaluate inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement against applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Responsibilities include setting up and calibrating testing equipment, performing non-destructive tests using visual inspection (VT), Ultrasonic testing (UT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to identify product errors or defects. The position also involves overseeing welder qualification tests, evaluating welder performance, and accurately maintaining all required records. Adherence to safety rules and practices is mandatory, and other duties may be assigned. Overtime is expected and required to meet production goals.
