About The Position

This role involves performing detailed inspections of mechanical components and assemblies to ensure they meet strict tolerance requirements. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for identifying and reporting any defects or non-conformities, maintaining accurate records, and preparing products for customer presentation. The position requires a strong understanding of quality systems and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of GD & T
  • Working knowledge of measuring tools and devices
  • Interpret blueprints
  • Diagnose out of tolerance conditions
  • Communicate effectively
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
  • High sense of urgency and ability to meet schedule requirements
  • 7-10 plus years' experience
  • Experience working in an ISO9000 or AS9100 quality system.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP system experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of various mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerance.
  • Perform first piece and in-process inspection in assigned value stream.
  • Identify defects in surface, dimensional, visual and non-conformities (material, documentation and workmanship) to blueprints and quality standards.
  • Report non-conformance of materials or unusual conditions to Quality Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager.
  • Use a variety of conventional and advanced inspection devices, CMM tools and instruments to verify dimensions to drawing specifications.
  • Maintain records, data and logs as necessary.
  • Create inspection forms such as IMS, first article and other related forms.
  • Prepare products and related paperwork for presentation to customer or source inspector.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Report safety incidents to supervisor.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to 5S programs in work area.
  • Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
  • Obtain necessary fixtures and gauging to verify that the parts are within the specified parameters.
  • Select gauging to minimize repeatability and reproducibility of the measured parameters.
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and report them via a nonconforming material report (NCR).
  • Inspection of purchased materials and components, verification of certifications and test reports.
  • Assure compliance to PO requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in training/learning other positions.
  • Accomplish related results as needed.
