About The Position

Pro QC International is seeking a Quality Inspector for a 1099 contract role in New Bedford, MA. This role involves conducting Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) on consumer goods, specifically focusing on tools and hardware. The inspector will be responsible for ensuring product quality by performing detailed inspections, identifying defects, and reporting findings accurately. This is an ongoing project with a flexible schedule based on client needs and site availability. Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience conducting Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) on consumer goods.
• Experience with Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) in the tools, hardware, and/or related manufacturing industry.
• Familiarity with AQL sampling.
• Ability to complete inspection reports within the time deadline.
• Strong hands-on experience with visual, dimensional, and packaging inspections.
• Proficiency in professional inspection reporting, including photos, findings, and AQL results.
• Must be able to travel to New Bedford, MA 02745 and nearby areas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) on 10,000 units of consumer goods with two clasp sizes.
• Perform inspections following a specific protocol for clasp functionality, including a 50-cycle test for retraction.
• Identify and categorize defects as Major (e.g., stuck open, does not retract, clasp does not fully close) or Minor (e.g., noticeable pause before retracting, sticky spring).
• Utilize AQL sampling methods for inspections.
• Complete inspection reports within the given deadline, including photos, findings, and AQL results.
• Conduct visual, dimensional, and packaging inspections.
• Travel to New Bedford, MA and surrounding areas for onsite inspections.
