About The Position

The Electrical Products (EP) Business Unit offers a full range of low-voltage power distribution and control products that deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial markets. We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our Fabrication team on 2nd shift at Roebuck, SC. Audit in-process fabricated goods and assembled components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in quality auditing and inspection (both mechanical and electrical).
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and Bills of Materials.
  • Competence in using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, scales, torque wrenches, and optical comparators.
  • Familiarity with sheet-metal fabrication processes (e.g., punching, bending, thread tapping, spot welding)
  • Familiarity with metal bar forming (e.g., bending, coining, shearing, welding)
  • Familiarity with metal finishing processes (e.g., powder coat painting, electroplating, epoxy coating)
  • Familiarity with electrical testing (e.g., HIPOT) and mechanical assembly of components
  • Proficient with SAP transactions related to material movements and scrap handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SPC and PPAP

Responsibilities

  • Document and distribute audit results effectively.
  • Identify materials as non-conforming and initiate the NCR process, ensuring products are not released until nonconformances are corrected.
  • Perform inspections and tests on purchased, fabricated, manufactured, and assembled products to assess compliance with directives and design specifications.
  • Conduct ISIR/PPAP inspections for new or revised components.
  • Assist in manufacturing setup to confirm correct assembly processes, including verifying materials, parts, tools, methods, and sequences.
  • Serve as a training resource for the proper assembly of products.
  • Perform Initial Sample Inspections at startup or changeover of new or revised product assemblies.
  • Conduct installation and testing of electrical components as needed.
  • Assist in the RGA (return goods) material handling process.
  • Be able/willing to shift workhours (i.e. 4 hours) into 3rd shift as needed to provide coverage for vacations & unscheduled absences.
