About The Position

Cobalt Aero Services is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure all maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities meet FAA, EASA, CAA & CAAC regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards. This role is critical in maintaining airworthiness, supporting operational excellence, and fostering a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.
  • Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.
  • Cleans work area, when required with minimal supervision.
  • Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.
  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO) experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of aircraft inspection experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA, EASA, CAA & CAAC regulations and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, structural repair manuals, and approved repair data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours based on production demands.
  • Flexibility to accommodate occasional travel / off-site work.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials, tools, and components weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
  • Reaching above shoulder level and working in confined or restricted-access areas.
  • Climbing ladders, stairs, work stands, and aircraft access equipment as required.
  • Crawling, maneuvering, and positioning oneself to inspect components, assemblies, and aircraft structures.
  • Maintaining visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections and identify defects or nonconformities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Quantum Software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, preliminary, in-process, hidden damage, and final inspections on aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Verify the completion and accuracy of maintenance and repair documentation.
  • Review and sign airworthiness releases in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with approved technical data, customer specifications, FAA, EASA, CAA & CAAC requirements, and company procedures.
  • Conduct routine surveillance and audits of maintenance activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Verify inspection requirements are completed accurately and all applicable documentation is properly maintained.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Repair Station Manual and associated revisions.
  • Provide initial and recurrent quality and regulatory training to employees as required.
  • Remain current on applicable FAA regulations, including Parts 43, 65, 121, and 145; as well as EASA, CAA & CAAC regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action programs.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
