About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and finished materials to ensure products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards. This role supports manufacturing quality by performing dimensional inspections, documenting results, identifying nonconformances, and participating in corrective action efforts. This position requires strong technical inspection knowledge and prior experience in a manufacturing quality environment. The Quality Inspector is also expected to provide practical input on inspection methods, quality processes, and equipment needs as LAKO continues to strengthen its quality systems.

Requirements

  • Must be 18yo or older.
  • 1-3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques and the use of measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and perform dimensional measurements to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete projects on schedule.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with increased responsibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training, vocational coursework, or certification in quality inspection, machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with ERP or quality documentation systems
  • Familiarity with inspection reporting software or digital quality records
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for dimensional reporting and documentation
  • Experience working within a formal Quality Management System (ISO preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of seal jaws, knives, rotary modules, and custom machined components
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Use precision measuring equipment including: Calipers Micrometers Height gauges Bore gauges Thread gauges Optical comparators Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Surface Roughness Tester (Profilometer) Other inspection tools as required
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, finishes, and material requirements against specifications
  • Document inspection results accurately in inspection reports, check sheets, and quality records
  • Identify nonconforming materials or products and initiate proper containment procedures
  • Communicate quality issues to supervisors, machinists, programmers, and engineering staff
  • Assist with root cause investigation and corrective action activities
  • Support calibration tracking of measuring instruments as assigned
  • Review incoming materials for conformance when required
  • Maintain organized quality documentation and traceability records
  • Participate in internal audits, continuous improvement efforts, and quality meetings
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with customer quality requirements and company procedures
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
