Quality Inspector
About The Position
The Quality Inspector is dedicated to ensuring conforming products are received, produced, and delivered in accordance with customer requirements and NuWaves’ Quality Management System. This position is key to product conformity and overall customer satisfaction. This individual identifies, documents, reports, and assists in the resolution of any non-conforming incoming, in-process, or outgoing material. With IPC-A-610 certification and industry knowledge, this individual successfully identifies defects on circuit card assemblies, cables, and chassis. This individual also assists the Quality Control Supervisor in processing Corrective Actions, Nonconforming Material, Document Control, Quality Initiatives, Equipment Maintenance and Calibration, and Product Returns. The right individual for this role will excel in inspections, but be able to move into a Quality Control Supervisor role within one to two years.
Requirements
- IPC-A-610 certification
- Industry knowledge to identify defects on circuit card assemblies, cables, and chassis.
- 2-5 years of work experience in Quality Inspections.
- U.S. Citizenship

Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections in alignment with IPC-A-610, AS9100D, and NuWaves’ Quality Management System for incoming material, in-process material, and outgoing shipments.
- Perform incoming inspections for chassis, PCBs, cables, and other custom parts.
- Inspect incoming material identified as high-risk for counterfeiting.
- Conduct in-process inspections for CCAs and top-level assembly.
- Perform final inspection of finished goods.
- Conduct final review of shipments.
- Inspect chassis or other items from internal machine shop.
- Generate First Article Inspection Reports, as necessary.
- Reject material failing inspection.
- Accurately document issues through NuWaves’ nonconformance processes.
- Work cross-domain and with external vendors to determine appropriate disposition of non-conforming material.
- Assist in processing Corrective Actions, Nonconforming Material, Document Control, Quality Initiatives, Equipment Maintenance and Calibration, and Product Returns.
- Identify improvements in the inspection process.
- Educate teammates on required quality processes from an inspection perspective.
