Requirements

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, understanding tolerances and customer requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of quality control principles.
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
  • 3 years related hands-on experience performing dimensional inspections in a shop environment.
  • Excellent quantitative aptitude.
  • Able to work well in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Proficient at communicating clearly and effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision inspections on machined parts using CMM’s and other inspection tools such as gages, calipers, micrometers, and bore gages.
  • Analyze drawings and create inspection plans to determine the best method of inspection for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with the production team, engineers, and management to communicate quality issues and provide input on improvements.
  • Conduct floor audits including visual and dimension inspection and work closely with the team to catch issues early to prevent scrap.
  • Assess risks and discern appropriate action.
  • Review and interpret CMM inspection reports to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Conduct first article approvals.
