About The Position

The quality inspector is responsible for recording production and scrap and verifying production quality by specifications set by our customers. This role involves performing end-of-line and in-process inspections, completing daily checklists, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The inspector will also coordinate the work of associates following the foaming process, act as a problem solver to identify quality issues and support manufacturing efforts to remove root causes, and manually assemble door shells using pneumatic and manual tools. Attention to detail, following work instructions, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment are crucial. The position requires mobility on the manufacturing floor and the ability to work required overtime as needed.

Requirements

Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Able to read and write in English preferred but not required.
Basic math skills with ability to perform basic math calculations, such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Plus, knowledge of fractions and decimals.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Ability to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality.
Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.
Ability to work in a team environment; good interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
Good hand/eye coordination.
Ability to understand English preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.

The employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop, twist, push, pull, talk, and hear.
The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. sometimes without assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working amongst moving parts, oil, grease, coolants, fumes and other airborne particulates which can become hazardous under certain circumstances.

Responsibilities

Records all production and scrap into Masterpack accurately.
Verifies quality of production specifications through measurements and visual inspection techniques.
Coordinates work of associates performing operations that follow the foaming process.
Acts as a problems solver to not only identify quality issues, but support manufacturing efforts to remove the root cause.
Manually assembles door shells using pneumatic and manual tools in a fast-paced environment, ensuring correct components are used.
Performs end-of-end the line and in-process inspections.
Completes daily checklist, recording information such as dimensional specifications of finished slab.
Follows work instructions and pays attention to details.
Follows safety and PPE procedures and reports violations to supervisor, leads, and/or to safety.
Achieves/performs daily targets and output of production.
Meets quality standards for the line.
Follows work practices that are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and ISO requirements.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5s requirements, rules, and regulations.
Must be able to work required overtime as needed.
Work with members of leadership and quality to solve issues.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
