About The Position

The Quality Inspector (QI) and Quality Engineering (QE) Trainee is responsible for inspecting, testing, sampling, and sorting products or goods being manufactured based upon quantity, technical descriptions, and marking standards required by the customer. The QI will support the Quality Manager and QE to ensure compliance to all customer, drawing, and specification requirements, and drive quality improvement both internally within Rhinestahl and with our supply base.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree from a college or university in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering or 5 years related experience as a Quality and CMM Inspector.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, and NADCAP
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and common technical information and reports, including the ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience with tooling design (both machine fixtures and inspection gages)
  • Extreme attention to detail, organized, and accurate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry
  • Reasoning; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations, utilizing critical thinking skills
  • Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint; MS Project preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MODUS , PC-DMIS, poly works is a plus
  • Absolute Arm /FARO arm portable CMM and experience preferred
  • Surface plate layout experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use various gages and coordinate measuring and point verification to ensure product compliance.
  • Perform measurement on an optical comparator.
  • Review protocols, qualifications, and validation procedures documented by the organization.
  • Audit and monitor quality requirements by performing detailed machine goods inspections in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and customer specifications.
  • Investigate non-conformance issues or discrepant materials and assists in resolving issues to ensure final inspection clearance.
  • Verify goods comply with company and/or federally regulated protocols.
  • Perform complex surface plate layout.
  • Complete inspection reports and findings for proper documentation and correction.
  • Capability to Program and operate CMM’s equipped.
  • Knowledge of MODUS , PC-DMIS, poly works is a plus
  • Generate Material Review Board documentation and recommending solutions.
  • Assist in writing rework and repair procedures.
  • Compile and complete quality documentation required for product delivery
  • Ensure compliance to quality system standard and communicate requirements and changes to personnel.
  • Interface with supply base to ensure compliance to all drawing and specification requirements.
  • Issue CARs for supply base nonconformances.
  • Review supplier conformance certifications to ensure compliance to customer requirements.
  • Create inspection plans for parts with assistance from process engineering.
  • Ensure we have all gauging and inspection equipment to inspect parts per created inspection plans
  • Complete Quality Management System internal audits.
  • Work with all departments to ensure compliance to all import and export laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.
