About The Position

Plastic Ingenuity is seeking a Quality Inspector for the 3rd shift. This role is responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing to ensure products meet quality standards. The Quality Inspector will provide administrative and technical support, including investigating and disposing of defective parts, creating and maintaining standard defect lists, and performing part measurements and testing. This position requires a keen eye for detail, accountability, and the ability to follow established procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Solid math skills
  • 1-2 years prior experience in a quality inspection role
  • Superior eye for detail and slight deviations from in-house quality standards
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing/inspection.
  • Desire for continual learning and personal development
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills are essential.
  • Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior
  • Keeps commitments; exhibits candor and courage - is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view, to engage in spirited and constructive debate, to hold others accountable.
  • Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

  • Read QC specifications to ascertain acceptable part specifications
  • Check parts to make sure they meet customers' specifications
  • Perform specified tests on parts including visual inspection and physical testing using various measuring instruments
  • Evaluate data and issues reports for deviations from existing standards
  • Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated, validated and maintained properly and ensure safety during operation of equipment
  • Monitor testing procedures and processes to ensure tests performed are done according to item specifications, protocols, and standard methods
  • Use standard measuring and testing instruments, functional gauges, and other tools
  • Distribute check sheets, gauges, plugs, and fixtures for technician inspection
  • Communicate customer requirements, sampling procedures, and tests to techs and inspector packers
  • Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety
  • Use computer programs to measure and check parts
  • Use CMM, vision systems, etc. to measure and check parts
  • Understand and follow ISO requirements
