About The Position

Support a variety of manufacturing operations using various quality tools and techniques such as inspecting, gathering data, containment, problem solving, help implement problem resolutions and follow up on actions. Will use a variety of measuring tools, documentation, audits, capability studies, lead improvement projects, and exercise independent judgment based on facts/data. Performs work at a level consistent with Transcraft standard practices and follows all Safety standards/policies. Must be willing to work flexible shifts/hours as required. Will report to the Quality Engineer, Quality Manager or department head.

Requirements

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High School degree or G.E.D equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior quality experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented, work with facts/data to make sound decisions
  • Self-motivated
  • Can lead and be an example for others.
  • Problem Solving (8D, 5 Why, etc)
  • Statistical data/analysis (capability studies, Pareto charts, Histograms, control charts, etc. with variable or attribute data).
  • ISO 9001 (Lead Certified Auditor).
  • Conduct process/lot audits to meet ISO compliance.
  • Manage the measurement and test equipment, torque wrenches, dial calibers, weld gages in calibration database.
  • Understand document control and its processes.
  • Conduct PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) functional and dimensional trials.
  • Processing nonconforming material and conducting receiving inspection.
  • Basic welding and visual welding inspection knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of paint and visual paint inspection.
  • Understand basics engineering concepts, fit, form, and function.
  • Able to create Inspection Standards from prints, design standards or other required standards.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, ERP software (SAP, Oracle, etc), email, statistical software, CAD basics, and capable and willing to learn additional computer programs as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 year associate degree or better, or ASQ Certified Quality Tech preferred.
