About The Position
The 2nd Shift Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspection activities, documenting results, and communicating findings to Quality and Operations leadership. This role plays a key part in identifying nonconforming products, supporting investigations into process issues, and contributing to corrective and preventive actions. This position requires accurate data entry, recordkeeping, and adherence to quality standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with standard dimensional inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc.)
- Ability to operate advanced inspection equipment (e.g., CMM, vision systems)
- Working knowledge of: ISO 13485 standards
- Working knowledge of: FDA 21 CFR Part 820
- Working knowledge of: Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work the assigned shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Perform product inspection using a variety of precision measurement tools and equipment
- Properly set up parts, run established measurement programs, and interpret results (pass/fail)
- Accurately complete and maintain quality records, logs, and reports
- Perform data entry to support trending and performance monitoring
- Conduct documentation review and dimensional verification of incoming materials
- Identify, segregate, and tag nonconforming materials
- Log and document nonconforming product details
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including evaluation and disposition support
- Provide input on product condition and potential impact
- Identify opportunities for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support follow-up and effectiveness checks under guidance of Quality Engineering
- Perform in-process, final, and release inspections
- Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) following established procedures
- Support validation activities with measurement and documentation
- Perform in-house gage calibrations per work instructions
