About The Position

Biomerics provides contract manufacturing, laser processing, and finishing services to a wide range of industries with a strong commitment to customer service. Biomerics specializes in the most challenging machined and micromachined components, including those used in interventional and medical robotics applications. Biomerics offers Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting on precision medical tubing. Laser/Swiss machining enables features to be machined, and laser cut in the same process. Our core competency lies in smaller medical components, produced with high accuracy and repeatability. Traditional Swiss screw machining capability is also available for rapid prototyping and production. In addition, Biomerics utilizes five axis milling machines capable of producing complex finished components, while holding extremely tight tolerances. Responsible for ensuring product being produced meets customer requirements. Utilizes basic inspection tools, gauges and other equipment to perform first article, in-process and last article inspections. Records inspection data on forms. Interfaces with production to provide timely inspections and resolve issues. Interfaces with customers when needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Operator or Inspector in a machining or high-tech manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency utilizing microscopes for visual inspection is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency utilizing a wide range of measuring instruments; experience with CMM's, video measurement systems, comparators, height gages strongly preferred.
  • Must have GD&T knowledge

  • Educational background in light industrial trades and/or in a post-secondary vocational program is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts first article, in-process and last article inspections for machine operators.
  • Works with other inspectors to ensure timely inspections of all departments.
  • Reads blue prints to ensure proper inspections methods and tools.
  • Interfaces with customers as needed.
  • Performs material movement, inspection data gathering and reporting as needed.
  • Documents NCRs as necessary.
  • Promotes the inspection department as a valued resource and not just a problem finder.
  • Completes inspection forms in a neat and professional manner.
  • Works effectively under a time restricted environment at times.
  • Develops inspection checklist sheets as necessary.
  • Obtains any additional documents from customers to ensure proper inspections.
  • Performs visual inspections as needed.
  • Helps ensure nonconforming material is labeled properly.
  • Understands how inspections fit into the production Process Maps.
  • Performs incoming inspection as necessary.
  • Participates in product dispositions as necessary.
  • Keeps work area organized and promotes good housekeeping.
  • Follows applicable QMS Documents, Procedures, and Process Maps.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
