About The Position

The Quality Inspector/CWI/NDT Technician is responsible for inspecting and measuring parts to ensure they meet material specifications. This role involves using precision measuring equipment, visual inspection, and non-destructive testing methods such as Ultrasonic testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to identify product defects. The technician will interpret inspection results against applicable codes and standards, set up and calibrate testing equipment, and oversee welder qualification tests. Communication with various stakeholders, including supervisors, engineers, customers, and compliance agencies, is a key part of the role. Adherence to company quality programs, policies, and safety regulations is required. Overtime is expected to meet production demands.

Requirements

Working knowledge of industrial processes and traditional quality control methodologies.
Intermediate knowledge with computer software to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Entry level customer service skills in managing difficult client, vendor, audit agencies or customer situations by responding promptly to requests.
Intermediate problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Good organizational and planning skills in order to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Current Certification as AWS-CWI

Responsibilities

Inspects and measures parts using precision measuring equipment to determine conformance to material specifications.
Prepares and maintains quality verification documentation.
Uses visual inspection techniques (VT) as well as Ultrasonic testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in product.
Interprets and evaluates inspection results for welding fit-up and filler metal placement with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Sets up and calibrates all testing equipment.
Oversees welder qualification tests and evaluates welder performance.
Studies and interprets sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of parts to determine conformance requirements.
Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, sales, customers, compliance agencies and other shop personnel for quality and customer related issues.
Adheres and complies with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
