About The Position

The primary purpose of a Quality Inspector is to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections in support of manufacturing operations. The Quality Inspector ensures that products conform to engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to use standard measuring equipment and perform dimensional and layout inspections.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing quality standards.
  • Experience performing measurement system analysis, including gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) studies.
  • Familiarity with calibration systems and inspection equipment control.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of welding inspection practices is beneficial.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and programming is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant post-secondary education may be substituted for a portion of the required experience.
  • Professional certifications related to quality inspection or CMM operation are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections using standard measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Verify product quality and conformance to applicable drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Complete required inspection documentation and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of products based on established specifications and engineering requirements.
  • Identify, document, and control nonconforming materials or products in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Track and record inspection activities and labor as required.
  • Prioritize inspection workload to support production schedules and minimize potential disruptions.
  • Communicate inspection findings to manufacturing personnel and assist in resolving quality-related issues.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable quality management system requirements.
  • Perform inspections at external locations when required.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Assist in developing inspection methods and procedures for new products and processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and manufacturing processes.
